PSI
has developed a proprietary aqueous microencapsulation technology,
which allows fabrication of polyphosphazene microspheres with
narrow size distribution and an extremely broad range of sizes
from 200 nm to 500 µm. The advantages of the Company’s
methodology include simplicity and speed of microsphere preparation,
mild encapsulation conditions, and the precise control of
microsphere architecture and size.
This microencapsulation technology is also high throughput
enabled and can be applied to many of PSI’s library
compounds. This feature, in combination with the design control
afforded by polyphosphazene chemistry generally, facilitates
the development and manufacture of microspheres with designed
characteristics such as modulated release profiles and controlled
erosion/degradation rates.
This technology may be applied to a variety of applications across
both the life science and advanced material applications.
